About the event
The Albany Historical Society will offer a beginning course in Basic Blacksmithing. This course will cover basic forging techniques (drawing, upsetting, punching, swaging, splitting, and bending), types of steel used, heat treatment of steel, fire building, forge welding, and tool making. Each student will have hands-on experience in each area covered. Registration fee is a $50 donation to the Albany Historical Society. You must pre-register to attend.
